Orange City, IA – The Orange City Development Corporation, City of Orange City, and the Orange City Chamber have been working on a marketing plan for the Hawkeye Building retail space, which includes sub dividing the space into three potential business areas. The Hawkeye Building remains an important asset for our downtown area and we are pleased to announce that Brad’s Corner Bakery has signed a lease to become our first tenant in this newly redesigned retail space. We are excited that Brad and Kathy Gabel have decided to bring their business to Orange City and believe this will be an excellent addition to our downtown area. Brad’s Corner Bakery will be opening in the Fall of 2019 in downtown Orange City.
“My passion for baking artisan breads and pastries has grown from a dream which started almost 13 years ago in my uncle’s kitchen where he taught me how to make his 45+ year old family-recipe ”Bewley Bread” to the reality of opening a specialty bakery in the community I love and which this Los Angeles native calls home” stated Brad Gabel, Brad’s Corner Bakery owner.
Mike Hofman, Executive Director for the Orange City Chamber added, “The addition of Brad’s Corner Bakery in our downtown will provide residents and visitors with a unique line of baked goods not currently available in Orange City. The staff has done an amazing job in creating this variety of breads and specialty pastries and we are excited for our citizens to be able to stop downtown and enjoy the atmosphere and products this space will provide. We are excited that Brad has committed to being in the Hawkeye Building in the heart of downtown Orange City. ”
Brad’s Corner Bakery prides itself on using only the highest quality ingredients and baking in small batches to ensure consistently great bread. Our vision is to bake and share distinctive, artisan breads and pastries that help connect people and their communities.
Gabel added, “We have some exciting plans going forward in the new location which will expand on our current menu available at the Le Meilleur Bakery in Hull and Brad’s Breads available at the Orange City Farmer’s Market. We will also have our own special blend of coffees and teas to enjoy with your croissants, pastries, specialty cakes & macarons.”
Mayor Deb De Haan commented, “We are extremely excited to welcome Brad’s Corner Bakery Breads to Orange City. Brad’s Breads vision is to bake and share distinctive, artisan breads that help connect people and their communities. Orange City is blessed by Brad’s investment and commitment to our community. This addition to Orange City will be an asset to our main street and in keeping Orange City a “Vibrant” community.”
A new website, FB & Instagram page are in development for Brad’s Corner Bakery and will be up and running within the next two months. For more information contact Brad Gabel at bradsbreadsoc@gmail.com
